Ways Annapolis Mall is Safeguarding the Environment:

  1. Waterless Urinals: By installing waterless urinals in all men’s restrooms, we are significantly reducing water consumption. This contributes to both cost savings and environmental benefits by lowering water usage and minimizing wastewater treatment needs.

  2. Bottle Filler Station: A bottle filler station has been added at the food court restroom to promote the use of reusable water bottles. This helps reduce plastic waste, encourages sustainable habits, and aligns with our commitment to environmental stewardship.

  3. Energy-Efficient LED Lighting: The transition to energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the center significantly lowers energy consumption. In addition to reducing our carbon footprint, LED lights also lower maintenance costs due to their longer lifespan compared to traditional lighting.

  4. Energy Conservation at Closing: To enhance energy savings, we turn off interior lights and escalators during closing hours. This simple practice helps conserve energy during off-peak times when the facility isn’t fully operational.

  5. Oil Recycling Containers: New oil recycling containers have been installed at the loading docks. This initiative helps ensure that used oils are properly recycled, preventing contamination and promoting sustainable waste management.
